API means the record is available through the REST API on every plan, for your team or your middleware to move. Kōbō stays the product master, so data flows outward and an ERP import can't overwrite a spec your factory is working to.

Before you connect anything.
How easy is it to set up these integrations?
Most take a couple of minutes. You connect from your Kōbō settings, approve access in the other tool, then pick what should sync. No developer, no middleware, no setup fee. If you would rather not do it alone, we will walk through it with you on a call.
How secure are the integrations?
Every connection uses the other platform's own OAuth flow, so Kōbō never sees or stores your password. Access tokens are encrypted, permissions are scoped to only what the integration needs, and you can disconnect from either side at any time.
Is there a limit to file storage with the Dropbox integration?
The integration works against your own Dropbox account, so your limit is whatever your Dropbox plan gives you. Kōbō does not add a separate cap or charge you again for space you already pay for.
What if I need an integration that isn't listed?
Two routes. Zapier connects Kōbō to over 6,000 apps with no code, which covers most requests. For anything more involved there is a documented API you can build against. Tell us what you need on a call and we will point you at the shortest path.
